글로벌 스테인레스 강 생산이 2020년 3.2% 증가될 것으로 예상됨에도 크롬과 페로크롬 가격은 과잉공급으로 단기간은 현 상태를 유지할 것으로 예상된다고 Merafe는 3월9일 언급했습니다.
몇몇 생산업체가 시장약세, 정전 그리고 지역사회 불안으로 생산을 감소해, 남아프리카 페로크롬 생산업체들은 최근 몇 개월 동안 압박을 받고 있었습니다.

2019년 남아프리카 공화국은 전세계생산량 14,000,000MT중 3,600,000MT의 페로크롬을 생산했습니다. 크롬 17,500,000MT를 생산했고 그 중 절반을 수출했습니다.
